I believe design is first and foremost an emotional experience. Not just correct and consistence. Not just trendy. Not on-brand in the checklist sense. Felt — immediately, instinctively, without explanation. Sometimes style is a container — and the job is to make it precise enough, transparent enough, that whatever is inside shines. Sometimes style itself carries the energy and the meaning. Either way, it has to be right. Not almost right. The direction is never obvious at the start. There are always too many possibilities. But somewhere in the process, through conversation, through iteration, through the slow work of separating what's interesting from what's right. You find it together with the client. I've been doing this for 25 years — agencies, startups, in-house, across 4 countries. The problems change. That feeling doesn't.
